Cancer Awareness Outreach Program - India
The VTSeva cancer outreach program is a pilot program for spreading awareness, prevention and early detection of cancer among the poor people of rural areas of Andhra Pradesh, India. The program was launched in Oct 2007. VTSeva has organized walkathon and events in various parts of USA, India & Australia to promote awareness among the people.

Celebrations in Sri Ram Nagar, Shamshabad


World Cancer Awareness Day Feb 4
was celebrated grandly at Sri Rama Nagar, Shamshabad.

Dr. Radha Krishna and Dr. Smt Veena, came all the way from Warangal and conducted a session on the awareness of cancer. The doctors explained in detail the symptoms of cancer and remedial measures during the session.

The doctors were happy to have participated in this event, because for a long time, they had been looking out for avenues to participate in service activities in cancer field and could not find a proper direction to lead. When they learnt of Swamiji's mission to promote Cancer Awareness among the masses, they were delighted to be part of the mission.

Swamiji dicussed with them the latest developments of cancer in the world. Swamiji said that the 'Journal of Experimental Medicines' provided excellent research material on several reasons of cancer. John Hopkins Hospital from USA gave wonderful info on the reacent findings of cancer. Swamiji also explained how JET and VT volunteers in different villages of Andhra Pradesh are actively involved in promoting the Cancer Awareness among the people and especially among women.

The doctors were very amazed to learn of the latest information in Cancer from Swamiji and also of the activies being carried out by JET and VTSeva.

Students from NG Ranga Agricultural University - Home Science Department also participated in the event. The ladies came under the guidance of Smt.Vijay Lakshmi and they participated in the session by the doctors and Swamiji. The students who had come to complete a part of their academic project were very happy to learn of the new developments of cancer, symtoms and remedies. They are keen in spreading this information to the villagers, during their visit to various remote villages which is part of their semester project.

Swamiji wishes that everyone of us share this information of cancer to atleast 10 people, thereby bring awareness of cancer among the people.
